Like any small village in Britain, Blairlogie did not avoid losing some of its sons during the 1914 to 1918 conflict. The local papers which can be seen in Stirling Library or Archives clearly show that the spirit of patriotism was running high and did so for a few years. Near the end of the war as the level of deaths and injuries rose, a level of realism returned.
After the war, Memorials were erected throughout the country; Blairlogie’s is located in the Kirk. Sadly it only records the names of the parishioners of the Kirk and it took the Archives group quite a bit of research to find those who attended other places of worship.
The image to the left lists the names of the kirk members who fell during both the First and Second World Wars.

Sadly many army and navy records were destroyed during the blitz during the Second World War and trying to piece together some of the facts has proven to be rather difficult.
